Ravindrasinh Anirudhsinh Jadeja was born on 6th December 1988 in Navagam ghed, Jamnagar, Gujarat. Ravindra is an India International Cricketer, an all-rounder with batting style left-handed and bowls left-arm orthodox spin.

Jadeja was born in a Gujarati Rajput family to father Anirudh and mother Lata. His father was a watchman for a private security agency. He lost his mother in 2005, trauma of the incident almost made him left the cricket. He has one sister working as a nurse.

Jadeja’s Domestic Career
In 2005, Jadeja made his appearance in U-19 at the age of 16. Jadeja made his debut in 2006-07 and played for West Zone in Duleep Trohpy. He played for Saurashtra in Ranji Trophy in the same year. In 2006, he was named in the Indian squad for 2006 U-19 World Cup in Sri Lanka. In the match against Pakistan, Jadeja took 3 wickets and India finished runner-up in the tournament. During 2008 U-19 Cricket World Cup, he took total 10 wickets while leading the Team as vice-captain in the Tournament.

In November 2011 while playing against Orissa he scored 314 runs in 375 balls. After this in November 2012, playing against Gujarat he scored 303 runs not out and in December 2012 while playing against Railways he scored 331 runs in 501 balls. These three consecutive triple centuries made him to became eight player and Indian first Cricketer to score three first-class triple centuries. He was just 23 at the moment.

Jadeja became the fifth-fastest player ever to complete the double of 2000 runs and get 200 wickets in Tests.

Jadeja’s International Career
Jadeja caught into the eyes of the International selectors with his all-rounder performance that he had shown during 2008-09 Ranji Trophy by scoring 739 runs and capturing 42 wickets. He was picked up for the ODI series against Sri Lanka.

He made his International debut on 8th February 2009, it was the final match of the series and he scored 60. In 2009 ODI Tournaments, Jadeja replaced Yusuf Pathan due to his loss of form and put in the order 7. In the third ODI match against Sri Lanka held at Cuttack on 21st December 2009, he took 4 wickets just for 32 runs. Jadeja was adjudged Man of the Match.

His overall performance was good in the ODI. In the third ODI played against England at the Oval in London, his performance was remarkable and he was named player of the match. In the fourth ODI his performance was mixed.

In February 2012, in the T20I of the Australia Tour, he shown tremendous fielding efforts, he effected Australia Team by 2 runs out. India won the match and Jadeja was adjudged Man of the Match.

In 2012-13 Ranji Trophy season he shown the remarkable performance by scoring double 300 scores in 4 matches. In the match played against Gujarat, he scored 303 runs not out and 331 runs against Railways. Looking at these stats, he was announced for his Test debut against England in the fourth Test match played at Nagpur.

During the Test series played against Australia in Feb-Mar 2013, Jadeja took 24 wickets and the Team India won the series by 4-0. He was ranked as the No.1 bowler in ODI Cricket by ICC in August 2013.

In 2014, despite of he was fully fit, Jadeja was selected for the Cricket World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. He was having shoulder injury at the time. During his playing in World Cup he took 9 wickets in 8 matches. His run rate was not so promising as he scored just 57 runs in 5 innings. In the semi-final India was lost to Australia. His performance in the ODI against Bangladesh was not up to the mark resulting in the drop out of Jadeja from the India Team. 

In the year 2015-16 during Ranji Trophy season, he made his comeback where he captured 38 wickets in 4 matches and scored 215 runs. He was selected to be played against South Africa in the Test series. Jadeja contributed to win the Team India by capturing 23 wickets in total and scored 109 runs in the series. Jadeja was the second highest wicket-taker in T20I, he picked up 5 wickets in 3 matches.

On 5th August 2017, Jadeja became the fastest left-arm bowler to reach 150 wickets in terms of number of Tests played.

On 5th October 2018, Jadeja hit his 1st century in his Test career. In March 2019, Jadeja became the third cricketer for India to score 2000 runs and to take 150 wickets in ODI’s during second ODI played against Australia. His name was listed for 2019 Cricket World Cup.

His 200th wicket was registered in the history in October 2019 while playing against South Africa in the first Test. In September 2021 he was named for 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

On March 2022, Kapil Dev’s record which was 35 years old, broken by Jadeja by scoring 175 runs not out during a Test match played against Sri Lanka. He helped Team India to won the series by 222 runs and capturing wickets. He scored his first overseas century in the fifth Test match of the 2022 Indian tour of England.

In July 2022, he was named as India's vice-captain for the ODI series against the West Indies. In September 2022, Jadeja was named in the Indian squad for the 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup but couldn't play because he was ruled out of serious knee injury. Later he returned back after 5 months of recovery and rejoined the Test squad for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy on 9th February in Nagpur and took 5 wickets.

Jadeja’s IPL Career
In 2008, Ravindra Jadeja was selected by the Rajasthan Royals for the inaugural season. He scored 135 runs in 14 matches. In 2009, he scored 235 runs. His role was important in the victory of Rajasthan Royals as Chennai Super Kings was defeated by the Team in the final match. Captain Shane warne given the nickname to him as “Rockstar”.

In 2010 IPL, Jadeja was banned due to some contractual irregularities aroused. In 2011, he was bought by Kochi Tuskers Kerla for $950000, later in September 2011 Kochi Tuskers were terminated from the IPL. In 2012 IPL, Jadeja was bought by Chennai Super Kings for $2 billion. He was the most expensive player in the auction for that year.

In 2022, Jadeja was announced Captain of Chennai Super Kings replacing M.S. Dhoni. He handed over the Captaincy back to Dhoni in the middle of the season and later he was ruled out of the Tournament due to rib injury.

पुरस्कार
In 2008-09, Jadeja was awarded Madhavrao Scindia Award for most wickets in Ranji Trophy. He received Arjuna Award in 2019. In 2021, he ranked No. 1 in ICC Top 10 Test all-rounders.
