Harmanpreet Kaur is an all-rounder cricket player for Indian Women’s Cricket Team. She is truly inspired by her idol Virender Sehwag. She is the first Indian women to score a century in WT20I match. She's a path-breaker too, having become the first India cricketer - male or female - to sign a Big Bash League contract with Sydney Thunder in Australia.
Kaur was born on 8th March 1989 in Moga, Punjab to Harmandar Singh Bhullar and Satwinder Kaur. She took to the Cricket in her academy days. In 2014 she moved to Mumbai and began working for Indian Railways.
Kaur’s Career
At the age of 20 she breakthrough her ODI debut in 2009. In the same year she made her debut for T20 International also. Her quick-fire performance in 2010 against England proven her ability.
For the Asia Cup in 2012, she was named as the captain for the Team. She made her captain debut for ODI in 2013. In 2014, she took 9 wickets in a Test Match. In 2016, she became the first Indian Cricketer to be signed by an overseas Twenty20 Franchise Sydney Thunder. She is the second highest scorer with 171 runs in Womens’s one day internationals.
Harmanpreet servers as a captain of India Women’s National Cricket Team in all formats. She led the Mumbai Indians Team in the inaugural season of Women Premier League (WPL) in 2023. Mumbai Indians franchise bought her for ₹1.8 Cr. Under her captaincy Mumbai Indians gave out of the graph performance.
